Windows ⇄ Android E2E Encrypted Generous free tier

Edgely Transfer Move files from your Windows PC to Android, wirelessly, without Google

Quick Share works, and it ties the transfer to an account and an ecosystem. Edgely Transfer keeps it between the two devices: they find each other on the network, they pair once, and the bytes travel directly, encrypted, with no Google sign-in and no Microsoft sign-in.

  • Windows 10+
  • Android 8+

Both apps ship today: an MSIX package or a Setup.exe installer for Windows, and Edgely Transfer Mobile on Google Play for Android 8 and later. Sending and receiving files is free on every tier, with no device limit.

Device Ring Every paired and nearby device around one ring, with its connection state.

What you can transfer

Windows → Android phone
Archives, photos and installers, direct from the desktop.
Android phone → Windows
Recordings and captures back to the PC in one tap.
Windows → Several devices
Send the same file to more than one paired device.

How it works

  1. Install both apps

Edgely Transfer for Windows is an MSIX package or a Setup.exe installer. Edgely Transfer Mobile is on Google Play, for Android 8 and later.

  2. Pair the phone and the PC

Each device announces itself three ways on the network, so they still find each other on a segment where a single broadcast method fails. Confirm the pairing on both screens, once.

  3. Send from either side

Drag files onto the PC’s Device Ring, or pick them on the phone and choose the PC. The transfer runs over TLS 1.3 on your own network, and each file is verified on arrival.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Quick Share or Nearby Share under another name?

No. Those are Google services tied to a Google account. Edgely Transfer pairs two devices directly, keeps the transfer on your own network and asks for no account at all. Nothing is uploaded, so nothing can be scanned or retained by anybody else.

Is the transfer encrypted end to end?

Yes. Every transfer runs over TLS 1.3 between the two devices, each with a certificate it generated itself and pinned to the other when you paired them. Nothing goes through an Edgely server, so there is no relay and no cloud copy to decrypt, and every file that arrives is checked against its SHA-256 before it takes its real name.

Do I need an account?

No. Pair the two devices once, by scanning the QR code or by accepting the request on both screens, and they keep working together with no account and no internet connection. An account is only needed to activate a paid licence.

What is free, and what is paid?

Sending and receiving files is free on every tier, on as many devices as you like, and the mobile app is free in full. Pro, 9 euros a year, adds downloads and uploads inside another device’s shared folders, transfer history older than seven days, and resuming an interrupted transfer where it stopped. It is also included in Edgely Guard and in the Edgely Suite.

How large can a file be?

One transfer can carry up to 10 GB, and a transfer that stalls for 60 seconds is dropped so the sockets are freed. On the free tier an interrupted transfer starts again from the beginning; with Pro it picks up from the last byte the receiver verified, even after the app has been restarted.

Ready to send?

Download Edgely Transfer on every device you use, pair them once, and forget the email-to-yourself trick exists.
