Native rendering

Native, not a wrapper

RDP, VNC and Wayland render directly inside Edgely. No external client to install. No second window to chase.

Native RDP
Frames decode in the Rust core with IronRDP and render as a native GPU texture inside the Edgely window. No FreeRDP, no mstsc launch.
No external client
Native VNC
Double-buffered, GPU-accelerated. Connects to RFB servers that use no authentication or the standard VNC password.
Standard RFB servers
Wayland from anywhere
Run remote Linux GUI apps in a tab: the server renders them headless and Edgely shows the frames, so this machine needs no Wayland compositor. Where one is available, waypipe can open them as local windows instead.
No local compositor needed

Vault

Two ways to unlock your vault

Pick what fits. Switch any time, every entry is atomically re-encrypted under the new key. AES-256-GCM with Argon2id either way.

Silent (device-only)

The vault opens transparently every launch. The key lives in the OS keychain, Keychain on macOS, Credential Manager on Windows, libsecret on Linux. The vault file alone is useless on another machine.

  • No password to remember
  • Bound to this device
  • Per-app keychain entry, apps never collide

Master password

You type a password each launch. Argon2id derives a per-vault key. Cross-device portable, the file plus the password unlocks anywhere.

  • Portable across devices
  • Argon2id key derivation
  • Auto-lock on idle

Biometric unlock

Touch ID, Windows Hello, fprintd, on top of either mode.

Atomic mode switch

Move between silent and master-password without re-entering your secrets.

AI Assistant

AI built for ops, not chatbots

Pick a task, attach a server's context, get an answer. Run it locally with Ollama for free, or use OpenAI / Anthropic when you want the strongest model.

Providers

  • Ollama Default · Local · Free · Private
  • OpenAI
  • Anthropic

Task-aware prompts

Each task ships its own system prompt and output shape. No more crafting prompts from scratch.

  • Generate command
  • Explain command
  • Fix error
  • Generate script
  • Ask about server
  • Explain config
  • Suggest optimizations
  • Troubleshoot container
  • Generate Dockerfile
  • Analyze manifest
  • Analyze security audit
  • Analyze logs
  • Network diagnostics
  • General chat

Privacy mode

Regex-based redaction strips IPs, hostnames, keys, emails and paths from the prompt before it leaves your machine. Enabled by default.

Multi-server context

Select N servers and ask "which of these has Docker installed?". OS / host info goes in, ranked answer comes back.

Runbooks

Save any AI conversation as a runbook with steps typed as instruction / command / verification / checkpoint. Replay on any machine.

Productivity

Built for keyboard-first ops

  • Cmd+K global search
  • Multi-tab + split terminal
  • Multi-server transfer
  • Inline diff tool
  • Command + connection history
  • Customizable shortcuts
  • Object storage browser (S3 / MinIO / WebDAV)
  • Native tmux-style panes

Session recording

Replay any session, on demand

Record any terminal, RDP or VNC session as a screen recording and replay it in the app, and keep a timed text log of SSH, Telnet, serial and WinRM sessions, with passwords masked. Filter the logs by protocol and export them as a transcript, a shell script or JSON. Saving a recording as a video file is coming soon. No third-party agent.

  • Timed text logs for SSH, Telnet, serial and WinRM sessions
  • Screen recording of terminal, RDP and VNC sessions, replayed in the app; video file export coming soon
  • Filter logs by protocol, search them by name
  • Password masking on by default; export as transcript, shell script or JSON
My Recordings: terminal, RDP and VNC sessions in one list, with search, a type filter and date sorting.

MCP server

Use Edgely as a tool from Claude, Cursor, n8n

The built-in MCP server lets any Model Context Protocol client list your saved connections, run read-only commands over SSH, read files and inspect Docker containers. Write tools stay off until you enable them, deletions wait for your approval, and your credentials never leave the local vault.
