Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes the rules for using the Edgely Service. It applies to anyone who uses the Service, whether or not they have signed up for an account. By using the Service you agree to comply with this AUP.
This AUP is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service and our End User License Agreement.
2. Prohibited Activities
You must not use the Service to do, attempt to do, or facilitate any of the following.
2.1 Unlawful conduct
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or court order
- Facilitate fraud, money laundering, or sanctions evasion
- Distribute or store unlawful content
- Engage in trafficking of persons, narcotics, or weapons
2.2 Security violations
- Attempt to access systems, networks, or accounts without authorization
- Deploy, distribute, or facilitate malware, ransomware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Conduct denial-of-service attacks or otherwise impair the availability of the Service or third-party systems
- Intercept communications without authorization
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system or network without proper authorization
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access-control, licensing, anti-tampering, or rate-limiting measure
- Submit content to the Service that you know to be designed to bypass our security or content controls
2.3 Intellectual-property violations
- Infringe copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, or other rights
- Distribute pirated software or unauthorized copies of protected works
- Share content you do not have the right to share
2.4 Harmful or abusive content
- Distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Promote violence, terrorism, or self-harm
- Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, or stalk others
- Spread hate speech, harassment, or unlawful discrimination
- Publish private information about others without consent ("doxxing")
2.5 Spam, abuse, and impersonation
- Send unsolicited commercial messages or otherwise spam our users
- Harvest email addresses or other contact information
- Create accounts using false identities or by impersonating others
- Automate access in a way that places undue load on our systems
2.6 Network and resource abuse
- Use disproportionate bandwidth, storage, or compute resources
- Run cryptocurrency mining or similar resource-intensive workloads through the Service
- Host phishing pages, command-and-control infrastructure, or otherwise malicious endpoints
- Use the Service to attack, scrape, or scrape-at-scale third-party services in violation of their terms
3. Acceptable Use
You may use the Service to:
- Manage and access servers, devices, or services that you are authorized to administer
- Store and synchronize the application data the Service supports, in line with the Privacy Policy
- Manage container or workload infrastructure that you are authorized to manage
- Collaborate within an organization on projects you are authorized to access
- Develop, test, and operate systems on environments you have permission to use
If in doubt, ask the system owner before using the Service to access or modify a system.
4. Security Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Choosing strong, unique credentials and protecting them
- Enabling multi-factor authentication where available
- Keeping the desktop application and your operating system up to date
- Reporting suspected vulnerabilities or security incidents promptly to security@edgely.io
We appreciate good-faith security research conducted in accordance with our published vulnerability-disclosure guidelines, where available. Security testing of the Service requires our prior written authorization.
5. Reporting Violations
If you witness a violation of this AUP, please report it to:
We treat reports confidentially to the extent reasonably possible and consistent with the need to investigate.
6. Enforcement
Where we determine that this AUP has been violated, or that the Service is being used in a way that creates a security, legal, or operational risk, we may take any of the following actions, with or without prior notice and depending on severity:
- Issue a warning
- Restrict, suspend, or terminate the offending use, account, or organization
- Remove or disable affected content
- Cooperate with law-enforcement and regulatory authorities
- Pursue civil and criminal remedies
We aim to act proportionately and to provide notice and an opportunity to remediate where it is reasonable and lawful to do so.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. We will publish the updated version on our website and, where the change is material, give reasonable notice through the Service or by email before it takes effect.
